New In: Makeup Haul

I went a bit wild shopping after Chirstmas since I got a lot of money from family and my job, but there's no harm in treating yourself to your own needs, especially makeup. I've always said to myself I could never spend so much on make-up, but when I put it all together I do spend a lot, however if it's to keep me looking funky and fresh, well I just have to do it. Eye and lip products were my top prioty of makeup I need and I personally think I got some great products which I want to share with you all and recommend.
*Some of these products are bestsellers and limited edition however I will try to link all products below.*

Urban Decay Vice 4 Palette (& goody box)
I've been wanting a new eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay since I stupidly dropped my Naked 2 and destroying my favourite shadows (RIP Bootycall & YDK), so on my list was a new palette, preferably naked. However I came at the perfect time as there were Christmas offers I know I could get more what I bargain for with this one specific palette. The Vice 4 palette was a limited edition palette with a series of bold and neutral colours, which is ideal for me because I love bold colours and neutrals which compliment my skin tone. I was attracted by the colours and with the persuasion of the MUA I just had to by it, but that wasn't all; since I purchased this on Boxing Day there was a goody box which came with it which include, a travel sized Setting Spray, their 24-hour eyeliner (shade LSD) and mini samples or lipsticks and eye primers, I definitely got more than I bargained for and I am so excited to start creating looks with these amazing palette.
Total Pervesrion Duo (Mascara & Eyeliner Pencil Set)
More limited offers for me to save, Urban Decay was putting on promotion a pack which included their Perversion Mascara & 24 Hour Glide On Eyeliner, two things I have been lacking of recently. The greatest thing about this little promotion set was looking on how much I'd save buying this together instead of separate; originally the eyeliner costs £15 and the mascara costs £17.50, but the set costs £22 all together which is mint looking on how much I saved, I couldn't say no to buying it, especially getting the second to last one in my local urban decay counter.
NYX Lip Products
NYX are a well respected drugstore makeup brand, but is very exclusive in the UK so I've not thought of ordering online, which isn't a bother no more now I found they have their own section in Boots in Manchester I finally got my hands on some of their popular products. I'm a personal fan of liquid lipsticks and I've heard many great things about these and just needed to get some for myself, I got two different kinds which do the same job. My first one was the NYX Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo, I've been needing to get a red lipstick for a while now and I love the finishing outcome on this product. The second lip product I got was the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsick in Vintage, the colour is a mixture of brown and purple (very Kylie Jenner), a very rich colour and finish, best thing about these products are the prices.
NYX Eyebrow Gel & Brush
Need to give my girl Niamh some credit to introducing me to this product (makeup lover and she blogs too check her out HERE). To get good eyebrows 'well a decent attempt' I've been through, pencils, mascaras and powders but nothing seems to do the trick, so it was time to try gel eyeliner. I here ABH (Anastasia Beverly Hills) dipbrow is one of the best, but I never know where to find it, however I love affordable products and this is equally as good in my opinion. Watching the male MUA working there apply it on and seeing the results was the way to win my over I got the Eyebrow Gel on Brunette which is a middle shade as I don't want to go too dark or too light and I bought the brush to apply which is a good quality brush in my opinion.
MAC Lipstick
Finally ended my search for a brown lipstick, after being sold out many times I finally got my hands on 'Film Noir' the Satin Lipstick from MAC. It's a truly beautiful shade of brown and feels great on my lips, not too creamy and not too dry. I become 75% Kylie Jenner when I swear this, I do however know my next search to team my brown lips is to get the Chestnut lip liner which is a similar match.

Quick OOTD: Neutral Tones

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and is ready for the new year to begin in a few days. I thought I bring to you a quick outfit post of an outfit I have been feeling recently. I have been feeling neutral colours recently from nudes and browns and this little combo is something I really like, first of all the grey midi skirt and the turtle roll neck flatter each other really well as the top is baggy and the dip hem is complimenting. I teamed it up with my amazing oversized camel coat which brings more tones of neutral colours to this outfit. I wore this outfit on my day shopping in Manchester as I hit the sales, and bought a lot of new pieces for my wardrobe, which I am excited to experiment and creates outfits which will be shown in the new year.

A Girls Best Friend x Swarovski - Part Two

Continuing on with yesterday's post collaboration with Swarovski, I'm talking about accessorizing plain outfits with stunning crystal jewellery. Moving away from the neck and moving down to the arms/hands.
Following with the necklace it would seem right to have the matching bracelet, but this isn't really the case (even though the matching bracelet is devine LINK IS HERE). This post is more about simplicity and sophisticated in my eyes and I instead gone for a bracelet which can alternate with different looks as this bracelet comes with both black and nude straps. The rose gold chain with the crystal pavĂ© embellishment in the centre is a classic yet elegant element which adds to the bracelet itself.

A Girls Best Friend x Swarovski - Part One

Diamonds are a girls best friend as so they say ... But we all have a weakness with crystals, golds, silvers and jewelry in general too. This post is simply how to bling up a simple outfit c/o Swarovski Crystals.
My outfit I am going to bling up in this two part post is a high neck swing dress in black, a basic, simple yet flattering dress which could be worn day and night. I want to highlight the high roll neck, which covers my neck giving my face a canvas as my body is shadowed so I think a statement necklace will compliment the dress. The 'Darling' necklace is absolutely gorgeous, please just have a moment of appreciation here; anyways the gold necklace with the mixture of crystal cuts and colours really bring a fashionable touch to this outfit. The drop of the necklace is aligned with the collarbone and the details are just exquisitely beautiful, the main thing I love about this necklace it's not too big to be a 'statement' necklace however it brings such a statement to the outfit.

Basic Layering

Layering clothes is actually an art, like how you need to find the perfect colours which will go together and balance out where you want to layer yourself, it's so technical and it will take time before you master it. I always felt like its when you have the urge just to wear all my favourite clothes at the same time but it is actually more than that.
Layering can be done all year round but as its getting into winter, I think it's only right to be doing this now. I put a little section about layering on my transition advice post I did before summer ended which would be useful for people who want to slowly try out layering. The advice I said was "A good tip especially for the fall is start with your darkest colour at the bottom and work your way to the top" which is a good beginning of when layering clothes as I have done in this outfit. As much I love turtle necks, I don't seem to own a basic black top, however I began with my black swing dress as the first layer, just simple base for this outfit before I started going lighter in colours gradually with a brown shift midi dress.

Cyber Weekend Party

Cyber Weekend, Black Friday, whatever you decide to call it is upon us and for most of us this year it lands on payday. It's also the time of the year we like to call "the party season" where there will be much celebration happening and partying around. We all gotta look out best for it, so I have made a wish list that hopefully will be involved in the discounts of this weekend, but which is my top party outfit picks.

University Hunting - Two Month Journey

Final year at college and the stressful earth to find my perfect course and university is here. All the preparation from college has lead up for some primary research of my own. As you know if you're a active reader of my blog, I am interested in doing further education but in the one thing I am passionate about, fashion (specially fashion marketing/promotion). Over September and October, I have been going to open days finding the perfect place for me, it's scary the thought of looking where you'll be situated for 3-4 years of your life, most likely away from your hometown, then again I am excited to get my independence as I become an adult. I went to 5 open days, Leeds, Salford, Huddersfield, UCLan & UCA (University for the Creative Arts). I thought talking about my first impressions and what I found out about the courses would be interesting to blog about so I hope you enjoy reading about my time exploring for my future university.

For my first open day I had to keep my mind open and not fall to hard for a course and university straight away for the social life etc before I look at my course first. Early morning and early train but all content and chilled, we got to the university alright but got lost finding the fashion building. It's annoy how much I take in where I go to new places, touring the building when we eventually got there, I kept walking away looking around for myself. The talk itself was so intriguing and made me realise that this course is perfect with the modules and how much I can explore in and out of it and the placements options out of the country, don't get me started. I literally felt like I was at home here but it's only the first one so no committing just yet.
UCA - Rochester
An art university because I am so arty lol, but this trip was my furthest out of all five. So early morning adventures on the mega bus and straight to Rochester on the first train from Victoria. Let me tell you about the university, situated on top of a hill with the most gorgeous view; the course, it had everything like literally you have so much to learn and find your true major of promotion within fashion, I love how creative you can get and where this place could get you. It was truly inspirational, probably two main things that brought me to love this university so much, they have their own magazine being GEIST which the students create themselves and sell in cities internationally and also all the alumni who have graduated like wow I would be honoured to be accepted into such a prestige art university.

The day after Rochester, you wouldn't understand I was like recovering from the journey, me and my mother had to run to the coach station in 5 minutes from the train otherwise we'd be stuck in London for the night, transport wasn't on our side that day. But anyways local at home this time so it was okay, uclan has such a great reputation for their fashion courses and even though I want the whole university experience and move away, I would most definitely consider home as an option. I won't go too much about here, I have talked about my experience in my post INSPIRING FUTURE, however I will tell you I am spoiled for choice which path I take in promotion from this university, the promotion course itself sounded so amazing however styling is something I'd love to try and brand promotion with specializing in photography like so much option I just can't choose.

A day to Manchester for the University of Salford's open day and it's was the only course which isn't marketing, but more photography based which is interesting and a change for my other courses, giving me a little bit of variety of choices. The only thing which really disappoint me about this day is that because my course was going to be in the new building which isn't complete yet, there was no tour around the facilities. However I have never met a more down-to-earth lecture for a course ever, even let alone the person who created the course. Enthusiastic with her passion and achievements for Styling and Image Making, I have taken a huge interest of fashion photography as a whole course.
My final open day, a little bit of relief as all this travelling every weekend began to tire me out a little but, however the one place I'd thought would be just an extra university to apply to, well let's just say they really won me over. Maybe a small town you'd think there wouldn't be much in store, you'd be surprise what Huddersfield held, the university campus was all together and was very modern as well to top it off. Going into my talk for Fashion Communications & Promotion I noticed one of the alumni is a blogger I've followed for a while, which really surprised me and she got a lot of praise from the lectures, the course breakdown ticked all of my boxes and also offered a year placement as well. There was something drawing me here which was special and I felt like I was at home.
So a crazy two months of travelling but I really enjoyed my visits to every university I went to, a lot of consideration of where will be the best place for me to study went on and is still going on. Now I have sent off my application for university, it's now the waiting game of which one of these 5 universities will be home for the next 3/4 years.

*Disclaimer* photos are taken at UCA & Leeds facilities due to camera wiping out my other three visits
